'My People' is a series of portraits by Turkish Cypriot photographer GAZi.
This series is an impromptu and candid series of portraits of Turkish Cypriot migrants who live in Melbourne Australia.
The series began in 2006 until around 2010.
'For me personally these photographs are the most important and special of my entire career. Many of the people are no longer living but they will forever be part of this ongoing collection.
When taking these photographs I just walked up very close and took 2 or 3 photos of each person then walked away. I never said a word to anyone.
The reactions are intriguing, different and interesting...Its a little insight into each persons soul , and you can read a different story in each persons face ... that's what I love about them !'

"The Blue Mosque, officially known as the Sultan Ahmed Mosque, is one of the most famous and recognizable landmarks in Istanbul, Turkey. Built between 1609 and 1616 during the reign of Sultan Ahmed I, it is a masterpiece of Ottoman architecture and a testament to the city's rich cultural heritage. The mosque's exterior is characterized by its six minarets, which are topped with gleaming white marble and offer stunning views of the Bosphorus Strait.
The interior of the mosque is where the real magic happens. The walls and ceiling are adorned with over 20,000 handmade blue tiles, which give the mosque its distinctive blue hue. The intricate ceramic tiles and paintings depict scenes from the Koran and depict flowers, trees, and other natural motifs. The mosque's interior is also home to a beautiful mihrab (prayer niche) and a large central dome that rises 43 meters above the floor.
The Blue Mosque is an active place of worship, but it is also a popular tourist destination. Visitors can explore the mosque's interior and climb to the top of one of the minarets for panoramic views of the city. Whether you're interested in architecture, history, or simply want to experience the beauty of Islamic culture, the Blue Mosque is a must-see attraction in Istanbul."
